Meridian Flow Massage and Gua Sha Class
The Study of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a life-long practice.
For complete training, it would take years of full-time education, but with the help of our Registered Acupuncturists, we can still learn how to use some basic principles to help ourselves and our clients.
Bonnie Adam, Registered Acupuncturist, has been practicing Acupuncture and other Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) body therapies for over 15 years.
She has been teaching continuing education to Registered Massage Therapists, Physiotherapist Assistants, Personal Support Workers, Yoga Therapists, Personal Trainers and other body work practitioners for close to 10 years.
Bonnie can give you the framework to use these therapies safely and responsibly in your practice.
Who is this class for?
This class is for professional practitioners, looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
It can be used for continuing education for many professionals.
Check with your governing body to see if the class would be appropriate for your guidelines.
This class is also an option for our Level Two Embodied Holistic Practitioner Mentorship Program.
This is a live, in-person, professional level cupping class for Massage Therapists, Physiotherapy Assistants, Trainers and Body workers.
Basic knowledge in anatomy. professionalism and experience in hands-on therapy is required before attending.

A Mix of Theory and Hands-On
We like to take advantage of online learning and still include the hands-on instruction that so many training courses are missing these days.
Study materials are sent out ahead of time, so you can have an idea what to expect and come to class prepared. We start out with a recap of the materials, time for questions and lots of time for practice with real people under the guidance of an experienced practitioner and teacher.
We will be throwing in some extra videos on some of the techniques for a more fully rounded experience and so you can keep them for future reference.
You'll get some bonus videos on facial gua sha for personal use!
We will be getting into all of the fun stuff! Like:
- Intro to TCM theory to help guide your practice. What do TCM practitioners mean when they talk about yin, yang, qi, blood, hot, cold, excess, deficiency, damp, dryness, phlegm, etc and how do these concepts influence how we treat clients?
- Intro to Meridian theory. Learn to follow the pathways and directions of the meridians and incorporate them into your treatments to create better overall flow.
- General acupressure. We'll show you some of the most effective acupuncture points to really bring your practice to a deeper level.
- Gua Sha! Learn how to safely integrate gua sha into your treatments. We'll learn about the tools, how to use them, and how to give a great treatment. Gua Sha can be a gentle or a deep pressure tool. The difference is in the training of the person who is using it.
- Options to do treatments with clients fully clothed or with proper draping techniques.

- Attend our next 2 day class
- Certificate of completion is awarded at the end of class for 20 hours of study.
- Please note: If you are using the class for CEU's, it is up to you to submit the class to your association to see if it is accepted.
Pathways Mentorship Level 2 Students:
- The class works the same way for you!
- This class counts as 2 full "credits" towards your Level Two Program
- If you choose Meridian Flow Massage and Gua Sha as one of your options, get in touch with Bonnie and let her know your intention to attend this class.
- She will get you registered and send you the study materials. Proceed through the materials and attend the class
- Come to the Student Practice Days and incorporate your new cupping skills into your 10 practice sessions

Participants will need to have a background or some basic training in anatomy and hands-on body work to participate.
You will need to have completed the Level One Mentorship program before proceeding to Level Two.
The Intro to Level Two will include the necessary training in anatomy.

The cost of the 2 day class and all of the study materials, plus Gua Sha tool is $400 plus HST
Students enrolled in the Pathways Level Two Embodied Practitioner Mentorship Program get $50 off.
Full cost is due up front. No refunds or exchanges.
